As we have learned in this class, music can be viewed as a reflection upon many things. These regions in specific, are deeply rooted within their culture. I chose to research Spain and the Netherlands because some of my close friends at this school are from there. Mom : I’d say just my environment, mainly from my parents. My mom loved cooking and had the radio playing every time she was making dinner, or just in the kitchen. We didn’t really listen to country that much, but we did listen to the oldies station. My dad isn’t much of a music guy, and still doesn’t play music in the car like a psychopath. So whatever my mom listened to, I listened to.  Me: What are some of your earliest/favorite memories of music? Mom : Um, probably just whatever was playing while my brother and I were hanging out, growing up. We don’t talk so much anymore, but we were really close growing up, and both loved music, so it was always on in the background.  Me: Is there any particular artist that had a significant impact on you as a child? Why?...
